Little Harbor Kids is committed to providing safe, quality toys for children. We encourage you to help prevent toy related accidents by being safety conscious, below is a list of some important tips to follow:

• Choose toys that suit the child’s age, skill level and interest.

• Look for quality construction and design in all toys for all ages.

• Avoid toys with small parts for infants, toddlers, and children who still mouth objects. This includes removable small eyes and noses on stuffed toys and dolls.

• Never hang toys with long strings, cords, loops or ribbons in cribs or play areas where children can become entangled. They can easily be wrapped around a young child’s neck, causing strangulation.

• Avoid toys with sharp edges and points for children under age eight.

• Avoid electric toys with heating elements for children under age eight.

• Instruct children of all ages to never put magnets in or near their mouths or noses. Ingestion or inhalation of multiple magnets can pose serious internal injury, infection, and even death.

• Plastic wrapping on toys can cause suffocation and should be disposed of immediately.

• Teach older children to keep their toys away from younger children.

• Teach children to put their toys away to prevent trips and falls.

• Follow instructions for assembly and use.

• Make sure toys are in good condition. Worn, broken, rusted or moldy toys can pose a danger.

• Supervise children when they play.
